ZZ Science & Technology (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. has recently achieved another milestone in its overseas business, marking a breakthrough in its development of markets along the Belt and Road Initiative. The company officially signed a contract with a renowned local steel enterprise for a slab continuous casting and hot rolled coil production line project under an EIC (Engineering, Instrumentation, and Construction) turnkey model. This collaboration, which empowers the upgrade of the overseas steel industry with a full-process closed-loop solution, represents another significant achievement for the company in seizing development opportunities in infrastructure under the Belt and Road Initiative and expanding its presence in the overseas metallurgical equipment market. The slab continuous caster supplied under this newly signed project features core advantages of "high efficiency, superior quality, operational flexibility, and reliable performance," integrating mature technologies with innovative design. It adopts a structure comprising a straight mould plus a bending segment with a vertical zone, facilitating the flotation of non-metallic inclusions and reducing their accumulation on the inner radius. The continuous bending and unbending curve design ensures uniform curvature changes and constant strain rates in the strand, effectively preventing internal cracks in the mushy zone and significantly enhancing the internal quality of the slab. The optimized arc radius design enables stable production of plain carbon steels while meeting the stringent casting requirements for crack-sensitive steel grades such as stainless steels and alloy steels, thus allowing compatible production of multiple steel types. Furthermore, the hydraulic oscillator for the mould supports dynamic adjustment of oscillation parameters using sinusoidal/non-sinusoidal curves, effectively improving the slab surface quality. In the secondary cooling zone, an air-mist cooling system with automatic control precisely regulates the growth of the strand shell thickness, providing high-quality slabs for subsequent hot rolling processes.

Utilizing these high-quality slabs as feedstock, the semi-continuous hot rolled coil production line under this project can fully realize its production capacity, achieving integrated and efficient production from slab charging to finished coil. The rolling line is equipped with a multi-point high-pressure water descaling system to thoroughly remove iron oxide scale from the slab surface, ensuring a high-quality finished surface finish. The roughing mill group is configured as a reversible unit consisting of an edger with AWC/SSC functions and a two-high mill with HAGC, ensuring precise width and thickness control. The finishing mill group adopts a continuous arrangement of "one vertical stand followed by seven horizontal stands," equipped with fully hydraulic AGC high-stiffness housing mills and a bending roll system to effectively guarantee the finished strip shape. Controlled rolling and controlled cooling systems are installed between the finishing mill stands to optimize the mechanical properties of the products. At the mill exit, thickness gauges and width gauges are installed for real-time monitoring of product dimensions. The laminar cooling system employs an intensive cooling strategy, precisely adjusting the number of water banks and water flow to ensure coiling temperature stability, thereby enhancing the finished product's mechanical properties. The downcoiler features a three-wrapper roll structure with an Automatic Jumping Control (AJC) function, effectively reducing indentations and ensuring both the surface and internal quality of the coil.
