ZZ Undertakes the 300mm H-beam Project of Yukun Steel

Recently, ZZ has undertaken the 300H section steel project of Yunnan Yukun Iron and Steel Group. This project is a small and medium-sized H-beam production line with the highest design standards and the widest product coverage in China. The production line is applied by a fully continuous rolling with a designed annual production capacity of 1.4 million tons and a potential annual production capacity of 1.7 million tons. The products cover small and medium-sized H-beams, I-beams, channels, angles, and high-quality round steels, with advantages such as "fewer blank shapes, more product specifications, and high yield".
After enough research and comparison of advanced processes and equipment technologies at home and abroad, the customer ultimately chose ZZ. After more than 20 years of dedicated research and development, ZZ is at the forefront of section steel process and equipment in China, with the highest market share in the domestic section steel equipment market. Especially the fifth generation short stress line universal rolling mill developed by ZZ has the advantages of good stiffness, high precision, and small bounce. The newly added backup machines for the imported H-beam production lines of Hebei Jinxi Steel and Rizhao Steel have replaced imported equipment with the fifth generation short stress line universal rolling mill of ZZ.

ZZ is a national high-tech enterprise that integrates metallurgical intelligent equipment and process research and development, production and manufacturing, and technical services. Its main products are intelligent production lines for hot-rolled steel sections, strip, medium thick plates, and bar and wire rods that integrate mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, water systems, and descaling and environmental protection.

ZZ led and undertook the "High Performance Hot Rolling Forming Technology for Super Heavy H-beam" project of the "14th Five Year " national key research and development plan. We will achieve a breakthrough in the world's largest specification HN1700 × 500 high-performance hot-rolled H-beam process, equipment, and industrial application of the entire industry chain technology. The project will reach a world leading level and become a new major power, helping China transform from a big iron and steel country to a steel power.
Yunnan Yukun Iron and Steel Group is located in Yuxi City, Yunnan Province. It is a large-scale comprehensive steel production enterprise integrating mineral resources, coking, pelletizing, sintering, iron making, steel making, steel rolling, oxygen production, power generation, logistics, etc. In order to implement the central supply side structural reform, promote enterprise transformation and upgrading to achieve sustainable development, Yukun Iron and Steel Group has relocated to the Dahua Industrial Park to build a capacity replacement and upgrading transformation, and create a "Yunnan Green Steel City". The hot-rolled H-beam project is a key project for Yukun Iron and Steel Group to promote transformation and upgrading, and achieve green development.
Hot rolled H-beam is an economical section steel with advantages such as large section modulus, good mechanical properties, low internal stress, light weight, and metal conservation. Widely used in industries such as construction, mechanical, petrochemicals, electricity, and transportation, it is a "green building material" encouraged by the state.
In January, 2022, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development issued the Construction Industry Development Plan of the 14th Five-Year Plan, proposing "vigorously promoting the application of prefabricated buildings, actively promoting the construction of high-quality steel structure housing, and encouraging schools, hospitals and other public buildings to give priority to the use of steel structures".
In June, 2022, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, together with the National Development and Reform Commission, issued the Implementation Plan for peak carbon dioxide emissions in the Field of Urban and Rural Construction, proposing that "prefabricated buildings should be vigorously developed and steel structure housing should be popularized, and the proportion of prefabricated buildings in new urban buildings in that year will reach 40% by 2030".
In developed countries, steel structure buildings account for more than 40% of the total construction, while in China, steel structure buildings account for only 5% ~ 7%, especially steel structure houses account for only about 1%, so there is huge room for development. Vigorously promoting steel structure is not only the direction of transformation and upgrading of the construction industry, but also the power source for optimizing the product structure and high-quality development of the steel industry, and it is also an effective way to strategically reserve steel resources and achieve the goal of "double carbon".
In recent years, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development has actively promoted the compilation and application of standards such as General Specification for Steel Structures, Design and Selection Criteria for Assembled Dwellings, Evaluation Criteria for Steel Structure Dwellings, Dimensions Guide for Main Components of Steel Structure Dwellings, Hot-rolled H-beams and Split T-beams for Buildings, and opened up breakpoints and blocking points in the design, production and construction of steel structure buildings with standardization as the main line. All standards vigorously promote the application of hot-rolled H-beam in steel structure buildings. With the gradual implementation of the "Double Carbon" policy, hot-rolled H-beam will usher in new development opportunities.
